For some reason, I thought it would be fun to take a class on quilling. Quilling is the art of twirling tiny strips of paper into shapes to make designs. Not sure why I signed up for the class. Might have been because I bought a packet of quilling strips twenty years ago and they were sitting in the drawer. Or, I just wanted to get out of the house for a little while. Anyway, the class was the last Friday in March and it was fun.

As is often the case with a craft workshop, I did not finish the project that night. Came close, got all the component pieces constructed, but did not do the final assembly.

Making the time to sit down and do the final bit took a month. Pretty fast for me, I think. Probably took all of fifteen minutes to glue the pieces into place.

One of the interesting things about taking the class… all tools and materials were supplied. Made things simple, for sure. Maybe the reason I never used those quilling strips sitting in my drawer was that I didn’t have any tools? Doubtful. I could have cobbled up something, had I known what was even required. Now I do. And our generous teacher gave us each a packet of tools to take home and quill.

So now, not only do I have paper for quilling (double since the teacher provided that as well), but I also have a handful…
